Welcome to 5th grade!
We had a very jam-packed week (once again)! How is it already the third marking period?! This week we were able to celebrate National Reading Day with some independent reading time (see below). Please keep your child reading at home as much as you can! Fifteen to twenty minutes of reading a night can do wonders! =)
We also had the opportunity to ALMOST wrap up our class novel study book, Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Students have been working on their caricature drawings while analyzing character traits and changes throughout the story (see below).
Students DO NOT have ELA homework this week. They should take advantage of this extra time to work on their science fair projects.
Please make sure you have taken the time to fill out the climate survey for our school. You can go to www.delawarepbs.org to take the parent survey. If you would like a paper survey to complete, you can stop by the office or send a note with your child.
CONGRATS TO OUR CLASS SPELLING BEE WINNERS! Grade level competition (and pictures) to follow!
Mrs. Libby: Ariya K.
Mr. Shane: Alia J.
Mrs. Drummond: Kayla W.
Have a wonderful weekend!
